The Indian multinational crude Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) which contributes around 75% Indian domestic petroleum products, is a state-owned enterprise of the Government of India, under the administrative control of the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas. The name of the company’s first oil well on the Ankleshwar field was given by Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru.

This largest natural gas company ranks 11th among global energy majors. It is the only public sector Indian company to feature in Fortune’s ‘Most Admired Energy Companies’ list.

The ONGC Logo shows the image of a flowing well. Besides, the abbreviation ONGC is prominently displayed in both Hindi i.e. ” ओ एन जी सी” (Devanagari script) and “ONGC” in English.
