An apex banking institution providing finance for agriculture and rural development, the National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) was established on12thJuly 1982 with paid up capital of Rs. 100 crore by 50:50 contribution of the Government of India and the Reserve Bank of India. The objective of NABARD is to promote sustainable & equitable agriculture and rural development through participative financial & non-financial interventions, innovations, technology and institutional development for prosperity.

The NABARD Logo depicts two hands holding a flower-like structure, which reflects the aim of the organisation that is to work towards encouraging rural prosperity and development.
