The Central Vigilance Commission (CVC) was set up by the Government of India in February 1964, on the recommendations of the Committee on Prevention of Corruption. CVC acts as an apex vigilance institution, which is free of control from any executive authority and monitors all the vigilance activities under the Central Government. CVC also advises various authorities in planning, executing, reviewing and reforming their vigilant work.

The Logo for CVC is an Abstract Mark Logo comprising of a graphic an eye-like structure in the logo showcasing vigilance. The eye represented in blue colour is symbolic for the focus of the community to be vigilant against any erosion of rights through illegal and improper actions of public servants. The logo was designed by the renowned Graphic Designer, Shri Binoy Sarkar.
