Formed under the Ministry of Finance, the National Institute of Public Finance and Policy (NIPFP) is an autonomous research institute that undertakes research on public finance and contributes to the process of policy-making related to public finance. Based in New Delhi, NIPFP also works in association with the Department of Economic Affairs at the Ministry to study the effects of past economic policy.
The NIPFP Logo shows the abbreviation of the name of the institute. While all the letters are blue in colour, the alphabet F, standing for Finance, is shown prominent with a different design, thereby depicting the area of work of the institute.
